Electrical maintenance supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing and leading a work team whose mission is to ensure the proper working condition of electrical and instrumentation equipment. While promoting interdepartmental collaboration between work teams to ensure the smooth operation of the plant, you will put your skills to work in improving the systems already in place and in solving problems. In addition, you will rigorously monitor the application of health and safety regulations in the workplace.

SUMMARY LIST OF DUTIES

  • Be a leader in health and safety;
  • Manage the operations of your team, ensuring that work is performed in accordance with health and safety regulations and quality objectives;
  • Implement and enforce best practices to eliminate hazardous situations in the workplace including maintaining order and cleanliness of work areas;
  • Actively collaborate with the OHS Coordinator;
  • Plan, supervise and organize the work of electrical technicians and subcontractors;
  • Coordinate and ensure the execution of preventive maintenance activities;
  • Prioritize emergency interventions on production equipment according to the plant’s priorities;
  • Participate in the resolution of maintenance-related problems (electrical, electronic, mechanical and pneumatic);
  • Optimize the management of spare parts inventories;
  • Issue work orders and follow up with suppliers;
  • Participate in process improvement activities, equipment changes and project management;
  • Act as a facilitator and coach to employees to ensure that all work is done in accordance with standards and operational procedures while respecting safety and quality rules;
  • Actively participate in the achievement of the objectives of his sector by carrying out a strategic management of human and material resources;
  • Encourage the participation of employees in the resolution of various problems;
  • Ensure that the personnel working under his/her supervision are well trained and use their full potential;
  • Carry out all administrative tasks (reports: timesheets, accidents, performance, training, movement of labour, etc.) while respecting the collective agreement in force;
  • Work closely with all managers and/or supervisors to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness of activities;
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the site’s computer systems to ensure the smooth running of activities;
  • Perform all other related duties.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

(Knowledge, skills, training, experience, etc.)

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in managing unionized personnel in an industrial field, preferably in the forestry field;
  • College diploma in electrician or vocational diploma;
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in industrial equipment maintenance
  • current electrician license, 442A/ticket Red Seal would be an asset;
  • Proficiency with Allan Bradley PLCs;
